The weekly quizzes were for self-testing. You had to have done them all as a requirement for admission to the exam, but the results did not list to data count. This setup guaranteed little depth, more a check of factual knowledge. Some questions seemed more like a close-reading test due to almost identical choices or negative formulations:
There are several reasons why Gutenberg’s invention led to the printing revolution. This is not one of them:
A) It sped up the printing process
B) It made printing more cost-efficient
C) It made the printing of larger books possible
(The correct wrong reason is C).
Online certification: do the points count?
Great! The course was successfully completed. My effort was rewarded, but did it also mean anything when it came to following another study or finding a job? The small print at the bottom was a bit of a disappointment with the disclaimer:
“Please note that this certificate does not confirm that this student was enrolled as a student at the University of Amsterdam in any way.
It does not confer a University of Amsterdam grade, credits or degree. The identity of the student is not verified by the University of Amsterdam.”
In times of DigiD and citizen service number, surely something can be done about this on a national scale? My expectation is that MOOCs will count for study and CV, once the phenomenon is more established. In the United States, the recognition of MOOCs with credits is already being discussed extensively.
Conclusion: the question is not whether, but when
MOOCs can be a valuable replacement for traditional, physical education. It is one of the great changes that the internet age brings with it. marketing list The question is not if they will have a big impact on established educational institutions, but when.

Tips for MOOC creators
To round off all my findings, my five cents for future MOOC creators and MOOC followers:
Run the MOOC on a reliable and powerful platform and ensure a clear basic structure. Think of accessibility in all a this builds relationships for your inc spects, according to the web guidelines.
Divide the lesson material into small units of three to seven minutes. This reinforces flexible learning.
