With a little attention, I smell the fruit, lots of ripe, sweet fruit.
After a good aeration, the fruity notes take a very large place in the aroma, including a beautiful prune which even fills the room very well.
The mouth
On the palate, the watts are very present, but they don’t seem so aggressive on entry. Their power comes like a wave with a strong spiciness. It’s oily, harsh, and dry.
There is a superb woodiness on the tongue also nicely smoky
Then there is a little fruitiness which brings a little indulgence between the prune and the cherry.
The final
As expected, the finish is quite short. Despite the low sugar content, its presence significantly mitigates the length of the finish. It is slightly peppery.
Ideal tasting mode
This is definitely a tasting rum. It should be superb in cocktails, but I haven’t dared to make it. For that, I prefer to use Rum Fire, which is amazing for cocktails.
Value for money
This is a rather expensive rum. You’d b2b email list have to be a Hampden fan to pay that price. Note that the 2020 and 2021 vintages are a little more affordable, at around €100.
My pleasure in tasting
Without a doubt, I thoroughly enjoyed this tasting. This is a rum I like to take my time with. It evolves really well, and in just an hour, you can check the audio quality experience a truly astonishing olfactory journey.
Complexity
This is a rum of great complexity. It’s strong. It’s america email therefore not an accessible rum for young enthusiasts. And even on an aromatic level, some experienced enthusiasts struggle.
